Because I don’t really like the whole professional bio thingie, I’ve opted to share 23 24 25(!) 26 things you probably didn’t know about me:
1. i’m outdoorsy. i lived in the woods for 5 months during high school to rock climb and in college was a white water rafting guide & rock climbing instructor
2. i would pick savory over sweet any day
3. i can’t whistle
4. i once ate sushi for 22 days in a row. i would do it again ;)
5. i used to work for hip hop moguls jay-z and steve stoute but love country music
6. i try to live with no regrets but secretly wish i had listened to my mom and refrained from getting a belly button piercing when i was 18
7. i love to cook. i’m still learning a lot, but my perfect night involves (my wonderful boyfriend) faris, wine and cooking
8. things i want to do before i’m 30: learn spanish, live in a foreign country (see below), learn guitar & speak at sxsw
9. places i want to live before i die: the west coast, africa, spain, canada, costa rica (or somewhere else in central/south america), australia & nashville
10. i can fall asleep anywhere. really. anywhere. this may or may not have to do with the fact i lived in the woods ;)
11. i don’t like chocolate, clowns, feet, wet grass, inefficiency or voicemails
12. it’s my personal belief that it’s absolutely ridiculous when senior people have junior people book their travel. i have vowed to always book my own travel
13. i voted for obama
14. i’m really close to my family. i love them all dearly. i think it’s fair to say that all of my good friends have met at least one of my family members :)
15. my house burnt down when i was in high school. i lost everything except for what i had with me at the time. (it was a very depressing life event at the time, but it did get rid of all those embarrassing pictures from my childhood!)
16. i’m flakey on the whole religion thing. i was raised christian and i’d like to think there’s something bigger than us out there, but my mind is too logic-based to grasp most religious beliefs
17. i love little kids. i also love giving them back. i’m relying on my sisters to supply the grandkids my parents want - i will take on the role of kickass aunt :)
18. johnny cash named his daughter rosanne cash after my grandmother rosanne, who i am also named after
19. i believe that i’m unusually lucky
20. i love yoga, but other than that i avoid gyms and working out (yes, i know this will have to change one day)
21. i get motion sick very easily
22. i have a side project with my boyfriend called “the joyists’ manifesto.” we create wishing trees and make faces out of things on the street with stickered eyes
23. i (now not so secretly) love the “poke” feature on facebook. i don’t use it often enough but it always makes me smile when i get that message saying “xx poked you!”
24. i love condiments, particularly hot sauce. at any given time, my condiments will out number all other items in my fridge :)
25. i used to work at starbucks and therefore take coffee perhaps too seriously
26. i don’t drink soft drinks too often, but i have a particular fondness for dr. pepper
